Therefore, the molar mass of H2O is (2 * 1.01 g/mol) + 16.00 g/mol = 18.02 g/mol. The percent composition of hydrogen is (2.02 g/mol / 18.02 g/mol) * 100% = 11.21%. The percent composition of oxygen is (16.00 g/mol / 18.02 g/mol) * 100% = 88.79%. As you can see, these percentages add up to approximately 100%, confirming the accuracy of our calculations.
